A punchy new grime video from Coventry’s hardest spitter – Skatta drops ‘Shutdown’, shot at a local boxing gym. Taken from his new EP ‘Fight Night Flows’ and produced by DJ K-Dubz, the track blends real-life experiences with his perspectives on life. The sentiments of Shutdown are pulled together with the hook “What can I say? Only what I’ve been thru. We know two types of people – some say and some do.”

Referencing his musical and commercial endeavours in the lyrics (such as his company ‘Mindstorm’), Skatta is one of the few who can say he’s been there and done it. From the streets to the stages, Skatta tells all about his journey thus far which in 2020 has seen him perform in Belgium, Lille, Paris, London and Nottingham. “True this life is a movie and everything is on tape” – a nod to the forthcoming album, Cinema Ticket.  Speaking on the single, the MC commented “I stepped in the ring with some heavy punchlines highlighting what my journey is all about – working hard, keeping it real and most importantly making good music. I also talk about my life and actually going through stuff that I talk about in my lyrics”.
